Evan, our friend Candice and I drove to McCormick Place, the largest convention center in the US according to Wiki, to pick up my race packet for this Sunday’s marathon. The biggest problem was finding the way to the parking lot. It was my first time to driving in the area. After we figured that after a few missed turns everything went smoothly. For a race that’s hosting 45,000 runners – there were no long lines to wait on. Amazing isn’t it?

The past couple nights the commercials on tv have been punctuated with those about the marathon, competing with the candidates for this November’s elections. It is always constantly mentioned on our news too. Tom directed my attention to it one time and I replied, “I know… It’s making me nervous.”

I have been advised to have a nightly massage of efficascent oil, sleep well on Friday night, carboload 2 days before, to bring pain reliever etc. from a couple of veteran marathoners friends. I plan to write everything that I need to do since I will be waking up at 4am on Sunday so who knows what important thing I will forget. I am also praying for 3 things: I will hear the alarm clock, I won’t miss the train and it doesn’t get too warm.

P.S. after the expo, we drove to Chinatown to have the most delicious, most deserved Dim Sum late lunch. I’ve always wanted to drive there for the longest time and so happy to finally do it.
