Monday started with Evan’s birthday celebration in school:
Tuesday started with Evan opening 2 gifts:
Having Japanese for his birthday lunch (he requested tofu and soup).
Ended his special day being promoted to a yellow belt in karate.
Wednesday was his birthday party. By this time he is thinking his birthday is 3 days long. The piñata was a hit and so was everything else (dragon cake, knight helmets, swords, princess tiaras, wands, goody bags, pretzel dogs, fruit kebobs, meatball spaghetti).
Thursday was the parent-teacher conference and mommy came home happy and proud at Evan’s tests scores especially in reading – especially since I was the one who taught him to read, what a very rewarding feeling =)
Tom was ecstatic when he saw the report too. I guess this was Evan’s gift to us.Friday was Evan’s last day in school and they had a picnic. Of course, I had to be there. Evan’s face still lights up when he sees me around during these school activities. After I took this photo I blew him a kiss and he unabashedly blew one right back at me.
Four has been a great age but I have a feeling five is even going to be better, I look forward to the coming days ahead. As I would always tell Evan at the end of the day, “I love every minute I get to spend time with you.” What joy this little man has been to my life, what blessing, what privilege.
